Lunch at azizam

My friends asked if I would like to join them for lunch and enjoy some Persian food. I had never experienced Persian food before, so I jumped at the opportunity to try something new.

We hopped into an Uber and traveled to a charming little place called Azizam, which is conveniently located in Silver Lake. Azizam has a quaint atmosphere and exudes a warm, wholesome vibe that put me at ease.

I had no idea what to order from the menu, but I decided to stay within my comfort zone and chose the smashed green olives alongside turmeric-braised jidori chicken. My friends opted for the “Make It a Mazeh Plate!,” ash-e-jo, and eggplant khoresht.

Thankfully, we decided to share our meals family-style, which allowed me to sample a bit of everything. Hands down, my favorite dish was ash-e-jo; it reminded me of the comforting bean soup my family would make when I was younger.

Overall, I enjoyed the entire lunch experience and would definitely consider dining here again if I find myself in the area.
